In this role, he is responsible for the company's day-to-day operations. Passionate about supporting charities, Roger D'Orazio supports Misericordia in Chicago.

Misericordia is a Catholic faith-based nonprofit that seeks to maximize the potential of people with developmental and physical disabilities. The Sisters of Mercy run the organization under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Chicago. In addition to the support granted by government agencies, its programs are also made possible through donations from faithful supporters.

A huge part of Misericordia's compassionate work was established through the selfless dedication of Sister Rosemary Connelly, who served Misericordia for 54 years as executive director. In honor of her passionate work, Sister Rosemary received the 2023 Laetare Medal from the University of Notre Dame. The oldest and most prestigious award given to American Catholics, the Laetare Medal is the counterpart of the papal honor Golden Rose. Sister Rosemary received the award during the University of Notre Dame commencement exercises on May 21.

Sister Rosemary was only 19 years old when she first came to Misericordia in 1969. At that time, she noticed that no programs met the children's psychological and educational needs. She reached out to academia and government agencies to help Misericordia develop the needed programs. She was told to create her programs because there are no available programs for children with developmental and physical disabilities.

This led Sister Rosemary to build classrooms for the children's education. She also created speech and physical therapy programs and developed the children's self-help skills. Today, Misericordia serves the needs of over 600 children and adults with diverse developmental and physical disabilities.
